Privacy Policy

APEAKZ Creation ("we", "us", or "our") operates Adventist Explorers, including the mobile application, this website, and related services (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Adventist Explorers is an independent project. It is not owned, operated, or officially affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Account and profile

When you register or update your profile, we may collect:

  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Address, if you choose to provide one
  • Profile photo or avatar
  • Account role (for example Explorer, Guide, or Admin)

Activity in the Service

To provide lessons, progress tracking, and program features, we may store:

  • Lesson and exam answers, scores, and progress
  • Experience points, badges, streaks, and achievements
  • Guide and Explorer relationships, invites, and related requests
  • In-app notifications
  • Last activity or last-online information

Technical and device data

We may collect:

  • Device type, operating system, and app or browser information
  • IP address and diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the Service
  • Push notification tokens (including Firebase Cloud Messaging) if you allow notifications

Location

If you use Church Finder or a similar map feature and grant permission, we use your device location to show nearby churches. That location may be sent to mapping or places providers (such as Google) to return results, and may be cached on your device. You can turn location access off in your device settings. Location is not required to create an account or complete lessons.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (including Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Messaging) to host accounts, store data, and send notifications. Google may process technical data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Website and admin tools

If you sign in to the Adventist Explorers website as an authorized Guide or Admin, we process the same account and program information so staff can support Explorers, review progress, and operate the Service.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide lessons, daily verses, badges, and related features
  • Allow Guides and Admins to support your participation
  • Communicate with you by email, in-app messages, or push notifications you have allowed
  • Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms and this Privacy Policy

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we share information

We may share information:

  • With Guides and Admins in the program, so they can mentor Explorers and operate the Service
  • With service providers that process data for us, especially Google Firebase, and mapping or places providers when you use location features
  • With other users when a feature makes limited profile information visible (for example your name or avatar to your Guide)
  • For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of APEAKZ Creation, our users, or the public
  • With your consent, for any other purpose you agree to

We do not share personal information with advertisers for their own marketing.

5. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain program records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal data we no longer need, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or limited backup purposes.

6. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Access or update profile information in the app
  • Request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data
  • Delete your account in the app settings, or by emailing us
  • Turn off location permission and push notifications in your device settings

To make a request, email adventistexplorers.support@gmail.com. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder or a parent or guardian.

7. Children

Adventist Explorers is intended for use in a family, church, or club setting. Minors may use the Service under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or authorized Guide.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for sale, advertising, or unrelated marketing. If you believe we have collected a child's information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will review and delete it where required.

Parents and guardians may email us to review, correct, or delete a child's account information.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including hosting with Firebase, to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please keep your password confidential and tell us if you think your account has been misused.

9. International processing

APEAKZ Creation is based in the Philippines. Our service providers may process data in other countries, including where Google Firebase operates. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

10. Third-party links

The Service may link to third-party sites or services (for example maps or church websites). Their privacy practices are not controlled by us. Please review their policies before providing information to them.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes may also be announced in the app or on the website. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
